Product Info

That's easy... just check out the 'How to choose the backpack size' page.

OrangeBrown products are made from quality materials. I am using mostly Dimension Polyant fabrics and DCF Dyneema Composite Fabrics (aka Cuben Fibre).

The volume is based on the pack measurements (length x width x depth) with the roll top closed and rolled over at least twice.

Most of the materias we are using for our products are waterproof. Seams are not waterproof due to the sewing needle punching tiny holes into the fabric when putting the panels together. For packs I recommend using a waterproof liner and for silnylon tarps/tents seam sealing is recommended.

Yes, a BearVault 500 canister fits vertically in the OB 45 pack (I’d suggest placing a sleeping pad or clothing between your back and the canister to make it more comfortable). Alternatively, the canister can be strapped to the top of the pack with the adjustable Y-shaped webbing closure, which is designed to hold items more securely than a single strap.

Materials – Tech Specs

The combination of low stretch, waterproof construction and 210 denier face fabric provides an ideal balance of weight and durability.

TECH SPECS: 210 denier nylon face with C6 DWR coating, black polyester X-PLY, 0.25 mil PET film for waterproofing, 50 denier polyester taffeta backing.

The combination of low stretch, waterproof construction and 70 denier face fabric makes it lighter than the VX21 but less durable.

TECH SPECS: 70 denier ripstop nylon face with C6 DWR coating, black polyester X-PLY, 0.25 mil PET film for waterproofing, 50 denier polyester taffeta backing.

The X33 uses tightly woven 330 denier Cordura nylon face fabric to create a highly abrasion resistant, tear resistant, high tensile and waterproof material. Slightly heavier than the VX21 but much more robust. Ideal for backpack bottoms.

TECH SPECS: 330 denier nylon face with C6 DWR coating, black polyester X-PLY, 0.5 mil polyester film backing for waterproofing

LiteSkin LS07 is the lightest waterproof, abrasion resistant fabric I use for packs. It is very thin and flexible and makes a great day pack.

TECH SPECS: Non-woven polyester face coated with pigmented polyester resin, 70D nylon ripstop backing, C6 DWR

X-Pac UDX40  uses proprietary sailcloth weave of Ultra PE fiber (like Spectra and Dyneema) blended with polyester to create a super tear and abrasion resistant, waterproof fabric.

TECH SPECS: Ultra-PE/polyester ripstop, Black Polyester X-PLY at 22º, 0.25mil polyester film, 50 denier polyester taffeta

Dyneeema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber) - DCF is a patented, ultra-lightweight fabric made of flexible non-woven composite laminates which are reinforced with Dyneema ®  fibers.
